How we verify suppliers and ratings
Who is listed by name
Only suppliers who have joined MarbleWala and ticked "List my business by name in the MarbleWala directory" appear by name, after our desk checks the profile. We store which consent text they agreed to and when. They can withdraw at any time and the profile leaves at once. Suppliers who have not opted in do not appear by name: their lots stay searchable, without the supplier.
What is public, and what stays with our desk
- Public: business name, hub or city, years in business, member since, the families of marble they deal in (never single marbles), services, badges, reply speed, ratings and reviews, visiting hours and languages.
- Shared by our desk when you contact the supplier: the yard address, map link, contact person and phone.
- Never public: which lots a supplier holds. A profile never links to lots, never shows lot or slab photos (we check every profile photo against lot photos) and never links to a storefront.
Badges: earned, never sold
- GST verified
- The desk checked the GSTIN on the GST portal and the business name matches. Shown with the check date.
- Yard visited
- A MarbleWala person visited the yard. Shown with the visit date.
- Video verified
- A live video walk-through of the yard with the desk. Shown with the date.
- Partner godown
- Has signed MarbleWala's Partner Terms: stock confirmed weekly, rate in writing before you travel, never more than the walk-in rate.
- Quick reply
- Median time from the desk's customer-registration message to the supplier's reply is 2 working hours or less, over the last 5 or more registrations. Earned and lost automatically every night.
- Stock confirmed this week
- Confirmed stock through the confirmation link or the dashboard in the last 7 days. Automatic.
There is no "Top", "Leading", "Premium" or "Trusted" label, and no badge, place or rating can be bought. Reply speed, response rate and member-since are computed by MarbleWala from day one, before any review exists.
Reviews and ratings
- Only a buyer whose enquiry reached that supplier can review it, once per enquiry.
- We ask every buyer who qualifies, the day after the visit (or 14 days after we share the godown), with one reminder. Never only happy buyers, and never for a reward.
- Questions: overall 1–5; marble as described; rate as quoted; delivered on time; would you recommend; optional text and photo.
- Stars and the average show from 3 published reviews. Before that the supplier shows "New on MarbleWala".
- Suppliers can reply in public or flag a review. They cannot delete or edit one.
- Our desk looks at flags within 72 hours and removes a review only for: abusive language, personal data, proven fake, off-topic. Negative reviews are published. The text is never edited except to mask personal data, and that is noted on the review.
- On lot pages, a supplier's rating shows only as a band (★4+, ★3–4 or below ★3), so a lot never points to one profile.
We follow the principles of BIS IS 19000:2022 "Online consumer reviews" (integrity, accuracy, privacy, transparency) and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules: every rating is shown, including low ones.
How the directory is sorted
By default, alphabetically within a hub. "Sort: MarbleWala rating" puts suppliers with 3 or more reviews first, highest average first; suppliers with fewer reviews follow them, never above. Filters: GST verified, yard visited, quick reply, rated 4★+, Partner godown. Nobody pays for a place. How we rank
A hub page lists named suppliers from the first one, but is shown to search engines only from 5 named suppliers.
Why no Google ratings
Google's terms do not allow its Maps content in a directory or its reviews to be copied, and its review rules forbid mixing ratings from other sites. We show only reviews from MarbleWala buyers. No JustDial or IndiaMART ratings either.
